In October of 1978, brothers Wayne and Dana Carr, began their journey right here in southwest Florida.  With an extreme passion for aviation, the Carr brothers started a flight school that would eventually evolve into a thriving private aviation business: Air Trek, Inc.!

Together, the three Carr brothers provided decades of world-class air ambulance and private charter services.  Air Trek pioneered multiple paths in the industry and is even a founding member of the American Case Management Association.

But after many years of successful service, the Carrs decided that the time was right to step away from the rigors of ownership and enjoy the fruits of their labor.  Yet they could not pass the reins of their legacy over to just anybody.  The Carrs did not want Air Trek to lose the feel of a family operation or to diminish its legacy.

Enter Doug Griffin, longtime friend, advisor and aviation insider.  Doug’s intimacy with the Carrs and with Air Trek’s operations made him an ideal candidate to lead the post-Carr transition.  Doug’s vision is to take Air Trek to new heights, but without sacrificing the family-feel dynamic that separates Air Trek from other more corporate enterprises.  And to assist with that vision, the Carr brothers have remained aboard for a time in key positions: Wayne now as Check Airman/FAA Liaison with Dana and Lester retaining their pre-transition roles.  Air Trek’s future is one with the promise of change, undergirded by the perspective of historic legacy.
